Birunji Pty Ltd is a majority-owned Banjima business based on Kariyarra country, Port Hedland. Our goal is to offer home compostable solutions that reduce the environmental impact on our beloved country. Birunji is dedicated to offering products that embody the principles of a circular economy. Going beyond sustainability, Birunji strives to promote the concept of reusability, taking steps towards a greener future. Embracing our deep connection to the country, Birunji has engaged with local artists from the non-profit organisation Yinjaa-Bart Art in Roebourne, Pilbara, to design unique and culturally meaningful cup wraps that allow our customers to experience the essence of Aboriginal culture while enjoying a cup of coffee.

The art design is titled Emu Seed, by Yindjibarndi artist Allery Sandy. Allery is a strong leader in her community Roebourne, and is also a multi-award winner who has exhibited nationally and internationally.
Our cups are AS5810 certified, making them 100% certified to organically breakdown without requiring commercial breakdown in industrial landfills.
Each coffee cup features a QR code that directs customers to Yinjaa-Barni Art’s website, where they can explore and purchase their very own art from local artists.
Birunji are committed to supporting our community, with each carton our customers purchase, 5% of the profits will go back into the art group to support the upgrading of its facilities in Roebourne.
